Denim: Fashion's Frontier Exhibition At FIT

"On any given day, nearly half the world's population is in jeans" report anthropologists Daniel Miller and Sophie Woodward.

This exhibition took a wide view, shedding light on the evolution of this durable cotton fabric.
It began with an introductory section and then proceeded chronologically with objects from the nineteenth century to the present. It juxtaposed examples of workwear with high fashion, street style, with commercial garments and menswear with womenswear, in order to present a multifaceted history of denim clothing that goes beyond blue jeans.

Here are some of the pictures I managed to take - I didn't find this exhibition anywhere near as inspiring or captivating as Fairy Tale Fashion, but interesting all the same.
