Oh Balmain You Are Clever

We all saw it. The Balmain Hair Swap.

Supermodel's Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid looked completely ordinary opening Balmain's fashion show a few weeks ago (if you could ever call them ordinary) bar the fact that they were both sporting each others natural hair colour. Gigi went brunette while Kendall sported a platinum blonde look.

Obsessed with Gigi's outfit here. Kendall's not so much...
Naturally, this created an explosion across all social media platforms. It seems however that there may have been a hidden agenda for Creative Director Olivier Rousteing, as he has now well and truly unleashed Balmain Hair Couture.

I'll put my hands up and admit, that even though I am indeed a die hard Balmain fan, I wasn't aware until earlier this year that the haute couture fashion house offered hair pieces and products.
I'm lucky enough to possess a head of hair that I'm (most of the time) satisfied with, meaning I have no interest in said hair pieces, but this draws my attention to the products, such as shampoo's and ceramic brushes, even more.

One issue I do have is that a friend of mine has purchased from the line and wasn't satisfied to the extent that she actually sent back the items she received. This makes me think that maybe the quality isn't that great, and they're perhaps hiding behind the label when in actuality the products are no better than we all already use? (I doubt this will stop me testing them out though - I promise I'll post about it when I do!)

Tell me what you think of Balmin Hair Couture in the comments section below!

Film Review: Brooklyn

Welcome back!

On Friday evening, me and my family all sat together and watched the 2015 movie 'Brooklyn'.
It follows a young Irish girl who leaves home to work in 1950's Brooklyn, moving away from everything she knows. Whilst there, she quickly falls in love with a local, making it even more difficult for her to come home when her past catches up with her (I don't want to ruin it by saying too much!) She effectively has to decide between two lives, the same old same old one she has in Ireland or the new and exciting one she has in Brooklyn.

One thing that really told me this film was good, was the fact that my Dad actually enjoyed it. He's an extremely tough critic, if something isn't half decent there's a 100% chance he'll fall asleep.

It really struck a chord with me, as in August I will be moving to New York and have funnily enough been looking at accommodation in Brooklyn. If you're in to sad movies then this is definitely one for you, but even if you're not, I still couldn't recommend it enough. It's made me wish that I lived in the 1950's in the big city - it looks so so so beautiful (especially the Central Park scenes).

If I've got you intrigued - you can watch the trailer here.
If you watch it, please let me know what you thought - I feel its one of those movies that I'll watch over and over again.

A Day In London Town: Photo Series

Welcome back! If you love London then I promise you'll enjoy browsing through this blog post.
This trip was organised by my course at university and I have to say I enjoyed it so much that I would be more than happy to do it a million times over. (Maybe not the getting up at 5am part).

Enjoy!

First stop (of course)!
If you want to spoil your children with sweet treats, then Selfridges food hall is the place to go!

I was so gutted that I didn't get a rainbow bagel when in NYC in January - this made me so happy!

My favourite accessories designer without a doubt!

& other stories has the most Instagrammable interior I've ever witnessed - I'm obsessed with their Scandinavian style.

Liberty's - I felt like I was in a very posh Hogwarts.
A fragrance ventilator in Liberty's which customers can enter to smell specific
fragrances.

Needle & Thread - need I say more?

I adored this VM for Nike X Liberty - love the all white trainer matched with the floral pop of colour.

MAC Cosmetics Interior.
The highlight of my day - having Afternoon Tea at Sketch. I loved sitting in my comfy baby pink chair looking at all of
the illustrations on the walls.

Very Alice in Wonderland esque don't you think?

And just when I thought it couldn't get any better - our waitress told us that all
of the food was refillable on a complimentary basis.

And then there was the toilet's...

We couldn't finish our trip without a cocktail or five in All Bar One.

I noticed a trend or two regarding VM when I was walking the streets, blog post soon to follow!
