Fragrance on my mind! Its well and truly all I'm thinking about at the moment. I must admit, it could be a lot worse!
With my initial presentation over and done with, I had to get back to business. By this point I had my 3 ideas ready in my little brain but I needed to research them fully and decide which one I was going to pursue. Part of this decision making process involved gathering primary research!
Now, on a course like FCP, connections are everything! I just so happened to mention in a Facebook post that my next brief was on fragrance and not long after I received a message from a lady who had contacts at CPL Aroma's, the 7th biggest perfume house in the world.
I was never going to pass up an opportunity to visit a perfume factory and discuss my ideas with an expert in the industry - so naturally I said YES and booked my train tickets to Brixworth in Northampton. Funnily enough, I spent a lot of my childhood living there, which made me think that the whole experience was just meant to be!
Once I arrived, I had a long chat with Charlotte, one of their talented sales executives. She then kindly showed me around the ginormous factory. I can't even put into words how strong the smell was in there, for a day or so afterwards I felt like a walking LUSH store as the stench had well and truly soaked into my skin!
This is where their solid perfumes are kept, I didn't just take a picture of a random dustbin! |
I even got to wear my own lab coat! |
I never realised until this experience just how many brands CPL is behind - they've worked with everyone from beauty bloggers like Zoella to a wide variety of current big name brands!
As if she hadn't done enough for me already, Charlotte then provided me with a ton of trend magazines and print outs that have really boosted my report and project as a whole. If you're reading this - thank you so so much!
