Consumer Analysis - Street Style

Here it is, Part 3!

For this section of our project, we had to identify how consumers adopted the trends our group had discovered in the previous tasks, looking for different tribes and what people were wearing the products for (bit of a mouthful!)

This basically meant taking pictures of random people in the street - surprisingly fun!

Here's a little recap - my groups category is 'Beauty' and our chosen sub-category is 'Face Makeup'.
Within this, we focused on key areas, being 'Silhouette', 'Colour' and 'Texture'.
Our key focus was on highlighting and contouring products!

The whole point of this project is to see if predictions for A/W15 that were made perhaps a year in advance were adopted by retailers (I'll link my Retail Analysis post down below), before then seeing if the trends had filtered down and been adopted by consumers, which is what this post is all about!

Now, my group had it tougher than the others in that we weren't just going up to strangers and asking for a picture of their shoes or longline coats - we needed close up shots of their faces (crazy, I know.)

That being said - we managed to pull it out the bag, below are some of my favourite images I collected.
Susie wore a more youthful/dewy look which I adored!

Bethan sported a more extreme daytime look - I pestered her all day about where her highlighter was from.

Bright White highlighter proved very popular for a 'night out' makeup look.

Olivia didn't just focus on highlighting the tops of her cheekbones and temples but the sides of her nose also - she even sent me photos of the products she uses, what a gem!

Yet another Bright White Glittery night-time look!
I took a more lateral approach and chose to go on the hunt for shimmering faces whilst on a night out which proved successful but very difficult - getting a drunk girl to stand still for multiple images is harder than you might think!

My group then got together and consolidated our information - adding it on to our existing presentation as a follow up from the retail analysis section. We then presented this in front of our seminar group and two of our lovely lecturers!

Next week consists of the conclusive 15 minute long presentation focusing on one brand - scary stuff! Come back then if you want to find out more!
