Gucci Overload

Gucci's Creative Director Alessandro Michele is clearly doing something right.

It seems that the world is sick of Dior's supposedly groundbreaking florals, people instead connecting with their inner child. So much so, that the same exact dress from Michele's S/S16 range has been worn on models across a bunch of magazine covers over the world.
Rooney Mara for ELLE January 2016
Lexi Boling for VOGUE Korea February 2016
Edie Campbell for VOGUE UK March 2016
I find it so bizarre that these magazines, especially VOGUE who has used it TWICE, would overlap on their covers. I mean, its not like they haven't got a billion different options to choose from!?

In 2015 a Prada dress was seen on 5 consecutive September 2015 issues. The employee that sent the dress to the various magazines was allegedly let go from the company!

So, was this cartoony, sparkly, fancy dress box esqué piece really that worthy? Leave your thoughts below!

Hopefully GUCCI see this imitation as a compliment!

Pancake Day Creation

Welcome back! I thought I would share with you all the deliciousness I created yesterday!

Fluffy pancakes covered in melted Toblerone and a handful of fresh raspberries - yummy.

For the pancakes, I followed one of Jamie Oliver's recipe's which has never failed me yet.

Ingredients:
3 large free range eggs
115g plain flour
1 heaped teaspoon baking powder
140ml milk
1 pinch of salt

First I separated the eggs, putting the whites in one bowl and the yolks in another.
I then added the flour, baking powder, milk and egg yolks - mixing them together to create a thick batter.
After this, I whisked together the egg whites and salt, before adding them to my batter.

Then, like any normal pancake method, I heated a non-stick pan on a medium heat before pouring in some of my batter and frying them for a couple of minutes on either side.
On this occasion I made plain pancakes, but you could add whichever flavouring you like!

For the topping, I melted about a third of a Toblerone in the microwave, adding a splash of double cream! I simply drizzled this over the top of my then stacked pancakes and then placed a handful of raspberries on the top - perfection!

This recipe is super easy and quick to complete!

I hope you liked this mini baking blog post, let me know if you want to see more of these!

Jourdan Dunn | Lil' LonDunn

Jourdan Dunn, a supermodel everyone has heard of who has successfully worked her way up in the ranks becoming in my view, one of the elites.

Just last year she was strutting her stuff down the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show catwalk, but it now seems as though she's had a change of focus and heart.

Dunn has teamed up with M&S to launch her first childrenswear range. As the name suggests - she celebrates her love for her hometown London throughout the range, while also being inspired by her 6 year old son Riley who suffers with a non-contagious blood disorder.

Dunn recently said "I've been a big fan of M&S since I was young and have fond memories visiting our local store with my mum as a kid. My collection is inspired by London and has the cool, urban vibe that I look for when choosing clothes for Riley. It's been an absolute pleasure to work on this project with such a big British retailer, and I can't wait to see the clothes on Riley and all his friends".

The range is aimed at both boys and girls, from age 5 all the way up to 16 and will be available to purchase from April this year.

I feel this has been a really good move made by the model, as it means she will be able to spend more time with her son whilst also continuing to pursue a career in the fashion world!

New Favourite Restaurant: Lola Jeans Tynemouth

Welcome back! Sorry for the late night post I've been at work allllllll day.
Last week I dined at a restaurant I've been desperate to go to for so many months - said restaurant going by the name of Lola Jeans.

I wasn't disappointed! I visited their Tynemouth location because I was craving a walk along the beach after being at university for a while, where there are no beaches within a reasonable distance.

Their decor is to die for, boasting floor to ceiling murals, exposed brick and endless chandeliers as well as various other quirks that simply made it one of a kind for me!

I had a bit of trouble deciding which cocktail to go for, before choosing the 'Garden of Babylon' which consisted of White Rum, Passion Fruit, Fresh Lime, Sugar Snap Peas, Brown Sugar and Mango - HEAVEN.

I've never seen a more real looking unicorn head in my entire life!

The main thing that drew me in to dining at Lola's was the constant Instagram pictures I was seeing of friends eating what looked like the most incredible food. I decided to go for their signature steak platter - lets just say there was nothing left on the plate!

I couldn't recommend LJ's enough, if you're ever in Newcastle then please pay them a visit, you won't regret it!

Powerpuff Girls X Moschino

Moschino is a brand known mostly for its outlandish nature, Creative Director Jeremy Scott being at the core of this persona.

Although I'd never personally purchase or wear 90% of what Moschino produces, one thing that their products undeniably do is put a huge smile on my face, their latest collection being no exception.

As I was growing up, one animated series I loved watching was 'The Powerpuff Girls' (If you were also born in the 90's or early 00's then you'll probably be able to relate!)

As I was scrolling through Jeremy Scott's Instagram page last week, my eyes were greeted by the most outrageously hilarious bags I've ever seen.

Bubbles was always my favourite - probably because we both
have blonde hair and blue eyes.
Followed by Blossom.
And then Buttercup who I remember used to scare me a little.

If I was ever to buy one then it would definitely be as a gift for my younger sister Ria - I don't think I could take myself seriously wearing any of them outside of the house, but each to their own!

I've always loved how Moschino is constantly thinking outside of the box, not sticking to sleek and elegant looks like other high end brands but instead ones that would only be regarded as acceptable to wear on the 31st October!

What do you think of this bag collection?

Diptyque Paris | Valentines Day

Diptyque is a Paris based luxury goods company that produces a high end line of scented candles and perfumes, as well as face and body care products.

Their latest collaboration for Valentines Day caught my attention, predominantly through the heavy use of the colour pink both on the products as well as the packaging.

The Rosaviola Collection.
Usually Diptyque tend to stick to a minimalist look with regards to their packaging - using black line drawings and only a touch of colour to illustrate, finishing their high-end products beautifully.

The pink came as a shock, but quite a nice one, making a short and sweet change to their otherwise elegantly slim colour story.

When you think of Valentines Day the colours that immediately pop into your brain are pink and red. At this time of year in the run up to the occasion, every retailer mainly in the middle-mass market is using these colours in some way, making them risky for high-end companies like Diptyque who don't want to lose their status.

What makes their use of the colours better is that its part of a collaboration with French fashion designer Olympia Le-Tan who is known for her mischievous sense of humour and her passion for the colour pink (if you also follow her on Instagram you'll understand this).

Being a lover of the colour pink myself, I've slowly but surely fallen in love with this collection; constantly popping into Space NK just to take in the gorgeous scents.

Adidas & Virgin Atlantic | Spacewear

If you're about to jet off into space, you might as well look the part!

3 prototype suits have been debuted at Spaceport America, Virgin Galactic's New Mexico launching station.

The three suits are mostly made up of Nomex - a tough, flame-resistant fabric similar to Kevlar body armour. Instead of the bright reds usually associated with Virgin, the space wear is made up of different black textures with zips running down the length of the suit.

The boots are also black, but provide a pop of colour through the blue Virgin logo on the tongues. Inside them, Adidas' AdiPRENE insoles ensure constant comfort.

I think this is a brilliant move on both Adidas' and Virgin's part - Space travel is looking more and more likely but predominantly only for the super rich. If you can afford to fly into space then surely you'd also be willing to pay a lot in order to look good?

What are your thoughts?
